My name is Michal Kunes. I have spent over 15 years working in the Czech and European space sector. I served as a Project Manager and Consultant at Czech Space Office and as Programme Manager of ESA BIC Czech Republic (European Space Agency Business Incubation Centre). After years of building expertise, relationships, and a deep understanding of how the European space ecosystem truly works, I founded SPACEALIST to put all of that to use and keep strengthening the Czech and European space industry, one client at a time. I am also an active member of the International Astronautical Federation and a former Executive Council member of the Space Generation Advisory Council.
I have mentored 70+ space startups and dozens more across deep tech, helped several secure investment, and supported their growth from first idea to successful scaling.
I have heard hundreds of pitches and worked with several VCs. I know what investors want to hear and what makes them pass.
I have written and successfully secured ESA and Horizon Europe projects. I have also evaluated proposals on the other side of the table. I know what scores and what doesn't.
I have managed national and international space projects. I am a certified PRINCE2 project manager.
I know the Czech and European space ecosystem in depth: the institutions, the funding mechanisms, the people. I connect them.
I understand space technologies, satellite data, and deep tech, and how to turn them into real business value.
Two master's degrees: one in space engineering, one in business. I translate between technical and commercial worlds and I am equally at home in both.
